Step into Old Hollywood Glamour at
THE LOS ANGELES THEATRE ON BROADWAY
Built in 1931, it was the last among the Movie Palaces to erect in Downtown Los Angeles. The opulence is unmatched with 50 foot ceilings and crystal chandeliers in the lobby.
The movie screen measures almost 60 feet wide by 30 feet high, one of the largest in the city. The main stage drape is an incredible three-dimensional scene rendered in silk, depicting events in the life of Louis XIV. It is said to be one of the two most expensive drapes ever made for a movie palace.

The grandiosity however, is not limited to the lobby and auditorium, as there are two ballrooms in the basement which were created to help entertain over 2,000 anxious guests awaiting the next showing.
Charlie Chaplin's "City Lights" premiered at the theatre's grand opening which was heavily attended. The most notable guest being Albert Einstein.

It originally ended in Downtown Los Angeles at 7th and Broadway— the exact intersection where the Haas building lives, on the same block as the Los Angeles Theatre.
